Bethlehem Church Christmas Party

Boys Camp Care Package

The theme for this years boys camp is BOOT Camp (Build Our Own Troop).  The scripture that goes with this is 1 Peter 3:8.

I made camouflage bandanas and put the BOOT CAMP logo on them with iron-on Cricut vinyl.

Short Speeches were assigned to the boys for evening firesides including topics:  Unity, Charity, Brotherly Kindness, Armor of God, Faith in Christ, Scripture Study, Prayer, I can do Hard Things, Peace in Tribulations.

I have leather stamps and 2" squares of leather that the boys made leather key chains with.  I also sent 4x6 (3 pack) canvas with rocks/pebbles from the DollarTree to make pebble art.  The boys loved these activities.  Other activities included hiking, water skiing, and fishing.

I sent them with board games including "Battle Ship".  Sent them with small Army Men from DollarTree.

I sent a picture of Christ to hang in camp.

Charm Bracelet Shrink Dinks

For Mothers Day at church Primary with about 30 kids we are making shrink dinks charm bracelets.  I purchased a kit with sheets of shrink plastic and punched 1 3/8 inch circles in the shrink wrap.  I also punched a hole in the circle to be able to attach to my charm bracelet.  I purchased chain and broke off in about 7" lengths.  I connected the chain with a jump ring.  I will also attach the shrink dinks with a jump ring after colored & shrunk per box directions.  I added a piece of 2"x4 1/4" (folded in half) piece of cardstock to each bracelet and stamped the woman silhouette on each piece of cardstock.  Each mother will get one bracelet with a charm attached

from each child.  Love how these turned out.

Burlap Advent

I used burlap ribbon to make my bags.  I just folded and sewed up the side and bottom.  I used jute string ran through the back to tie them up.  I got my free printable here and just stapled them to the burlap bag.  I love how they turned out.  Now to fill them great thanks writing prompts and scriptures from here and here.

Wood Nativity Set - to make or buy

Make this simple wood nativity set that kids can play with without breaking. Directions and pattern can be found here at Under My Umbrella. I LOVE this. Made a set today. It took one hour to cut out all the pieces with a jig saw and sander to smooth. Still needs paint but the kids have been playing with it.

Nativity Finger Puppets

When my daughter (3) broke my ceramic nativity after playing with them like dolls I decided to make finger puppets. I sewed a simple manger onto some felt. I made all the finger puppets out of felt. I just drew mine free hand. You need to have a space large enough for a finger to fit into. You should sew the outer edge of the puppet to withstand child's play. You can glue or sew your decorative felt pieces onto the finger puppet. Have fun.
update***found an inspiration page well after mine were created found here at Ucreat w/ Kids.

Quiet Books

Nap Time Journal has great ideas for free quiet book pages here. Also, Homemade by Jill has some printable designs here. For purchase go here to Dry Creek Design. The pages I made I colored with crayon, covered with paper towel while ironing to set the colors. Some of the pages have clear plastic pockets sewn on(lions den, JS, Jesus in manger, whale). We also used lots of finger puppets made from kids craft foam sheets. **Oopsey Daisy also has some here. **The How-To Gal has some here. .
