Adult Harry Potter Robe from a Twin Sheet

I purchased one black twin sheet for $5

and with the following instructions was able to make an adult Harry Potter Robe.  I also made a blue lining one for the Ravenclaw House.  First I took out the large top seam of the sheet to give me a few more inches that are needed.  Then I folded the sheet as follows and cut:

The robe/cloak is the larger piece and the sleeves are the 17 inch piece.  The sleeves need to be cut apart and the extra piece is for the hood.  Once my pieces were cut out I sewed as follows:
Bring edges to the center of cloak/robe piece.  Sew the shoulder together & sew on hood after sewing the shoulders together.  Sew the seams of the sleeves and attach to the cloak piece were you made slits for the sleeve (arm hole).

*To add lining, make two identical robes and put right sides together and sew around the front & hood piece to finish.  Turn the cloak right side out.  Trim the sleeves to the correct length for your arms (I cut off 4 inches).  Iron a 1/4 inch seam allowance at the end of the sleeves and sew lining together with robe.

** The Ravenclaw crest is from a napkin and I laminated it.  I will sew it on, or glue it on, or wait for an iron on patch.

***Can also attach a button or hook/eye, etc to the robe/cloak to keep closed.
